Why is insulating glass filled with argon?

  1. As we all know, argon is a kind of inert gas, with colorless, odorless, non-toxic properties, and stability. In the air, its content is about 1%, compared to krypton and xenon, Argon is the most economical inert gas.
  2. The density and dynamic viscosity of argon are higher than that of air, and the thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity are lower than that of air. Filling into the insulating glass can slow down the heat convection and heat conduction in the insulating glass, thus weakening the thermal conductivity of the overall insulating glass, and the heat transfer coefficient K should be reduced.
  3. Filling Argon can reduce the pressure difference inside the glass to keep the pressure balanced and avoid the glass cracking.
  4. Reduce the temperature on both sides of the glass, reduce the condensation on the surface of the glass, and reduce the probability of glass self-explosion;
  5. In the same way, enhance the sound insulation effect of insulating glass.
